Gennesis is passionate about helping individuals navigate the challenges and triumphs of their mental health journey. From a young age, she knew she wanted to work in the medical field, but it was during her years in college that she discovered her true calling: supporting others as they heal, grow, and thrive. Today, she is honored to bring that passion to her work at Hawk's Nest Counseling.

Before joining the Hawk's Nest team, Gennesis spent seven years working at a therapeutic boarding school for teens in crisis, also located on a farm. That experience strengthened her clinical skills while deepening her appreciation for the healing power of nature, structure, and meaningful connection. During that time, she studied a variety of counseling approaches and built the strong clinical foundation that guides her work today.

Gennesis earned her Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health and Rehabilitation Counseling from Thomas University and became a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in June 2024.

Her counseling approach is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in practical, real-life strategies that help clients feel understood, supported, and empowered. Whether meeting in the therapy office or walking the nature trails at Hawk's Nest, Gennesis strives to create a safe, welcoming space where clients can heal, build resilience, and move toward meaningful change.

Outside of work, Gennesis lives in Gainesville with her husband and their two cats, Skittles and Ash. Married since 2016, they look forward to growing their family in the years ahead.
