Meet Gennesis Popovici, LPC

Hi, I'm Gennesis and I'm excited you're here.

From a young age, I knew I wanted to work in the medical field. It wasn’t until I spent several years in college that I discovered where my true passion lies: supporting others through the ups and downs of their mental health journey. That realization lit a fire in me — and today, I’m honored to bring that passion to life at Hawk’s Nest Counseling.

Before joining the team, I spent seven years working at a therapeutic boarding school for teens in crisis — also located on a farm. That experience helped shape not only my clinical skills but also my appreciation for the healing power of nature, structure, and connection. During that time, I studied a range of counseling approaches and built a solid foundation for the work I do now.

I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health and Rehabilitation Counseling from Thomas University and became a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in June 2024.

My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in real-life strategies that help clients feel understood, supported, and empowered.

Whether we’re talking in the therapy room or walking on the nature trail at Hawk’s Nest, I’m here to support you with honesty, warmth, and a deep belief in your ability to heal and grow.

When I’m not at the farm, you’ll find me in Gainesville, where I live with my husband and our two cats, Skittles and Ash. We’ve been married since 2016 and are excited to grow our family in the near future.
